The World Escape Crew
A decade of escape rooms across 52 countries, mapped onto a globe you can spin, search and plan a whole trip around.
A bespoke build with two hard problems: an experience worth exploring, and a decade of data behind it.
The brief was an escape-room directory that doesn't feel like one. It had to be visually striking and genuinely easy to use, and it had to work just as well on a phone as on a desktop. Not a page you read, but a place you explore, built around the crew's love of the game and the countries it has taken them to.
The harder half was the data. Ten years of rooms, photos and scores had to be aggregated and mapped into one cohesive system, then kept alive. So we built a full management system for past and future rooms, one that is easy to update by hand and updates itself everywhere else: add a room, and the globe, the stats and the records all follow.
- 01One crew, one scoring system, 964 rooms
- 02Works equally well on mobile and desktop
- 03Ten years of data in one cohesive system
- 04A management system that updates itself
✦What if ten years of escape rooms across the world could live on one globe you can actually explore?
An interactive world, not a spreadsheet.
The globe leads
A spinning 3D globe is the homepage. Every room sits where it was played, clustered by city and coloured by score, so the map itself tells the story.
Built for thumb and mouse
The same experience on a phone and a desktop. Spin, search, filter and switch views without ever losing your place.
Scores you can trust
Every room played by one crew and scored the same way, with TERPECA-ranked rooms and records surfaced so the best are easy to find.
Spin, search, decide.

A bespoke admin, built for this site
- Add a new room with its photos, score and location.
- The globe, map and list update themselves.
- Records and rankings recalculate automatically.
- Edit every word, no developer needed.
Ten years of rooms, photos and scores live in one place. Add the next room and the globe, the stats and the records update themselves. No spreadsheet, no rebuild, the site keeps itself current.
screenshot · twec/admin.jpgWe'd played escape rooms in 52 countries and had nowhere to show it. Now the whole decade lives on a globe anyone can spin, and when we play a new room it just appears, ranked and mapped, on its own.
